Good Morning, Everyone! We got up this morning, and I had left Rob in the bathroom. He went to his wheelchair, and when I went back into the room, after turning some lights on, here he came pushing his chair. He was hunkered over, with pushing from the arms, but he was really moving. He got almost to his chair, before he was puffing, and had to sit down. I was so proud of him. That is the farthest he has walked in a month now. He said it actually felt good. We did his infusion, then checked his sugar, and he is feeling pretty good so far. I had cut his insulin back to 25 units last night, and he was 89 this morning, so we will continue to do that. Wea re also watching close what he eats, so that it doesn’t go too high. He is doing real good with all of that, but he does like some other things to carry him through the night. Munchies get him some nights, but I do have low or no carb items to allow him.

We actually turned his oxygen concentrator back to 3 yesterday, and it’s been on 4, since just after he came home. He checked, and he is at 98%, so that was why we set it back. He checked it this morning, before coming out to his chair, and at 3, he is still at 98%. I feel that Bronchoscopy with suction really helped him. They got most of that crap out of his lungs, and it has taken some time to heal, but he is showing signs of improvement now. Not sure what that will cost us in the end, if anything, but well worth it in my opinion. I think he has needed that all along, but this was the opportunity, since he was so bad off. Rob’s apt was changed from the 4th of Oct, to the 8th of Sept. Another staff that I don’t care for, but what else can I do. Dr. Le got that changed yesterday. They all have each others phone numbers, so they can text back and forth. Rob is going to ask him how often that procedure can be done. Life is beginning to look a lot better now.

Rob’s Son texted him on the 31st, to call him. He hadn’t seen it, so called yesterday late afternoon. Michael started complaining about Rhonda, so Rob ripped him a new one. I was afraid I was going to have to take his phone away from him. It wasn’t a pretty situation, especially since Rob knows that Michael always lies about everything. I don’t think Rob will try calling him back anytime soon, to keep him from having that stress more. I think if Michael had been standing in front of him, he would have punched him right in his mouth. If Michael’s lips are moving, he is lying. Michael has never learned Rob’s work ethics, and that is one thing that drives him crazy, since Michael is so lazy.

EllyBl...I am glad that you are getting lots of help in this move, so that you can get some rest. I hope that the move is going to be an easy one for you, and bet that you will be happy to get settled, once and for all.

Liz...Yes, Rob knows that he needs to learn to take a chill pill now and then. It kills him that he can’t do anything for himself, and it all gets dumped on me. That is the thing that drives him the craziest. Then since I am the one closest t him, I get the brunt of his wrath, on his rants. That is one reason I work harder to keep peace, and let most of what he says, just roll of my back. The last thing I want to do, is add more stress to him, and I have explained that to him. He chuckled when I read your message, and he knows you are right, but frustration gets the best of him. But then, you are as bad as he is, and not having much patience either. lol Yes, I was supposed to get the truck inspected, and get the new plates, but things with Rob have come up, and also bad weather. I will sneak it to the shop to get the inspection, then bring it home. I can go to the county building to get the plates in the car. I do need to get that done soon.

Time to get moving!

Good morning everyone.

Well, not much going on again today. The cleaning ladies did a wonderful job..everything is shinning like a new dollar.

The sun is shining again today, its a bit chilly but will warm up later I am sure. Molly enjoyed her wash and her walk.

Liz, you would also take a mild nerve pill to make you feel a bit better..seems to me you are a bit depressed..who can blame anyone with what is going on in this world.

Elly, glad things are moving right along for you. let your daughter help you and you take it easy. we want you around for a long time.

Morning Norma.

Morning SW.

Bunny, she sure is a good dog if she can hold it that long...good for her.

Take care my dear.

I m off..will check the challenges and then move on.

take care all and stay safe.

hugs to all.

Good Morning everyone

Not much news here the sun  is very hot again.

I did a bit of cleaning yesterday and some laundry That was my day .

Seems covid numbers are really rising again all over the country.

I got a phone call yesterday from a girl I knew when she was very young.I haven't seen any of them in years

her dad and Jack were close friends.

She has 6 children  and they are all grown the last I saw of her she had 3 little ones.

We talked for a while catching up .

It was nice to hear from her . Both her parents have passed now.

I have been in all week and trying to do a little house work and some laundry.

Beth I don't take anything and I'm not depressed just disappointed at times.

This darn fall I had  really took a lot out of me and my leg is still not completely healed .But almost.

I keep myself busy  with one thing or another.

Candy glad Rob still has his sense of humor.I know you will be glad to get all these appointments and test finished

and be able to rest some .

Wishing everyone a great day

Hello to all that follow

Hugs Liz

Today is Friday, September 3, and it's only 58F up here. I have my robe on but everyone else is loving it.

Beth I love those cockatoos. Glad you have a wonderful cleaning person.

Liz I know that is one of the answers. Keeping our minds busy!

I sure wish ugly had something to occupy his mind because now he messed with my mailbox and stole the clip I had on it for outgoing mail. He has no car so I guess it's hard for him to get a job with no transportation. The rest of us had a nice day yesterday just relaxing together right here on the couch. My Amazon package came and I put everything away. Today the kidney doctor will be calling to give me an appointment. Our Chewy delivery should be here later today and it's bill paying day. I hope you have a beautiful day. Stay well and stay safe. Hope you don't have any uglies around.

Good Morning, Everyone! I took the truck yesterday, and tried to get the inspection on it. The high beams would come on, but the light on the dash didn’t light up. They aren’t sure if it’s a fuse, the wiring or the bulb on the dash. They said to bring it back next week, so I will call the guy that has been working on it, to see if he can figure out what is wrong with it. I came back home with it, parked it, and took the car to get Rob’s syringe script and to the grocery store.

When I got to Walgreens, I told them it was syringes, and the girl looked new, and took 10 minutes trying to find it. Finally, she came across it, and I gave her my card, no change and off I went. As I am walking to the front of the store to leave, I decided to open the box, to make sure it was what we needed. NOPE!!! I turned around, and marched right back to the pharmacy mad as hell! I went up to the consult window, and made sure to tell her it was 2 boxes of lancets, and no syringes! I asked how he was supposed to take the insulin, DRINK IT? There were a couple of people that made comment in line, just as disgusted as I was. So, she let the Pharmacist know, looked it up on the computer, and then the Pharmacist told me that they didn’t have any the day before, so they has just come in that morning. OK, so now she will hurry up and fill them, then she also entered it in the computer, and again no charge. Why doesn’t anyone want to do their jobs anymore. People just don’t care, and these are the people in charge of our healthcare!!!

I did get Rob some Crystal Light and some other things to drink from the grocery store. His Gatorade has too many carbs in it, and so he can’t have it right now. He is enjoying the new drinks. I bought a bunch of different kinds, and he is super happy with them all right now. He loved the A&W Rootbeer one, but said it was a little strong. At least he was drinking more yesterday.

Rob is doing good with this walker, and getting pretty good walking through the house. His tendons are pretty sore this morning, but he is determined to take getting him through the house, off me for now. I am good with that, and now he is a little more independent now. He is walking better with it, than he was with his cane. The cane is staying in the car for now.

Liz...How lovely to hear from the young lady, and to catch up on many years of life. I have lost touch with so very many over the years. Being a military dependent for many years, I met lots of people. Time gets away, and everyone gets transferred around the world, so we loose touch. Many are out of the service by now, so good luck finding any of them. Yes, seems we never get ahead of laundry, and I constantly have something on the go here. Yes, the leg is taking a while to heal, but it will heal nicely, doing it slower. I hope that most of the pain is gone now, and hope that there isn’t any permanent nerve damage. You did take that one pretty deep. Yes, Rob still has his sense of humor for sure. He is so sick of seeing the inside of Doctor’s offices, and I know that feeling. He is always apologizing for it, but it’s just part of life.

Time to get moving!

Re:September 2021 Daily Chit Chat

Good Morning, Everyone! We got a call back yesterday, around 11, from the Doctor that was to do the biopsy on Rob. They asked us to come in yesterday at 3, so we trotted him off to e there at 3. Turns out that she had to work him up, dilating his eyes, and it wasn’t as cut and dry as we thought it was going to be. Long story, but we are back to square one. It never fails, and if Rob can fall through the cracks, it’s going to happen at every turn. Every damned time!!!

We got up this morning, and his sugar was at 52. He was laying there sweating, and wasn’t sure what was going on, so I immediately got him some orange juice, and we had a little talk. He has forgotten all of his diabetes info from 40 years ago, and it seems that when he was in the hospital, he wouldn’t get them to answer anything for him. Grrrrrrrrr It sure is getting old, fighting this uphill battle on a daily basis like we are doing.

The order never got to the Home Health Nurse Thursday morning, like she promised she would do. Someone else finally had to fax it off yesterday, once I called to complain. I don’t have enough meds to last until Tuesday morning, to wash this picc line out twice a day like they require, so they said that someone else will be here sometime this morning. I really don’t like Dr. Prince’s Nurse. She does everything half-assed, in my opinion. I am hoping that the other Nurse will be here today, since Emily was going out of town for the weekend. Rob wants this line out, and I don’t blame him.

Norma...Yes, I remember my days in California. I spent 3 years in 29 Palms, and 1 ½ at Camp San Onofre. I loved 29 Palms, in the high desert. Not as much grass there, but still beautiful in it’s own way. I didn’t come across as many rattle snakes in 29 Palms, as I did at Onofre. Even had one baby in the house, coiled up at the edge of a throw rug, right at the corner of the stove. My dog found it, and I am glad that she didn’t get bit. I called Parks and Wildlife, once I had swept it into a coffee can, with holes I had poked into the lid. They took it off somewhere. The other one was on the front deck, right across the threshold to the front door. I was getting ready to step across the doorway to go into the house, when I caught site of it. That was when my leg and foot went higher into the air, with me shouting, “OH HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” I did an about face, and in through the garage then. My the time I got my EX off his keester to get it, it was gone. Go figure!!!

Liz...I don’t care for Walgreens either, and haven’t for a long time, but UnitedHealthCare uses them, or their mail in order OptumRX. So, when I have to have something that can’t wait for mail order, that is who I have to use. CVS is just as bad here, and don’t even get me started on any others here. When we were in full lockdown, it was nice to be able to use their drive through, but even then they could be a pain. I have come to the conclusion that it’s just people in general these days, and no one wants to do a descent job anymore. When our government will pay people a lot more unemployment to stay home, and not work, I guess they would rather just stay home to get paid. They actually make more money that way, than when they were working. There just isn’t any pride in people anymore.

Time to get moving!

Things are a little upside down here this morning. Today is Saturday, September 4, and it's 63F right now.

Beth that he is! Hope you and Molly get that walk.

Norma it's so nice to hear about the sun in CA. Thanks.

Liz I think he spends his days thinking of how he can annoy me!

EllyBl how's the new place?

I had to get a fasting blood test so I went there before I gave everyone their breakfast and took my meds. That's all been taken care of now and I'm going to make my coffee. Then I can sit back and relax. Hope you have a lovely day today. My plan is to relax with my gang. Breathing is much better because the air is nice and dry. Enjoy your day.
